What A Shocker! Antisemitic Muslims!

E

laina Cohen has labored long and hard for England’s leftist Labour party, slogging the precincts, pimping the candidates, collecting the cash.  So she felt it was her turn to head up an inner-city ward and submitted her application.

It came back stamped “Too white and too Jewish.”  Here’s the story:

Elaina Cohen claims that Labour councillor Mahmood Hussain said he would not support her application for an inner-city ward because ‘my Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish’.

Mrs Cohen, 50, has made an official complaint about the alleged remarks made by Mr Hussain, a Muslim and former lord mayor of Birmingham.

She said: ‘I am shocked and upset that a member of the Labour Party in this day and age could even think something like that, let alone say it.

‘People should not be allowed to make racist comments like that. If someone in the party feels I cannot represent them because of my colour or religion, that’s ridiculous.” (Daily Mail)

Cohen argued that she had worked hard for Birmingham’s Muslim community and had even been on official visits to Pakistan as part of her Labour labors – but, really, who’s she kidding with that “ridiculous” line.  Britain’s Labour party has encouraged massive immigration of Muslims in an effort to secure long-term dominance in local government and Parliament and has kowtowed to their every whim.  You want British public toilets to not face Mecca? Sure! You want police dogs to wear booties when searching your houses? Sure! You want us to ban our own flag because it offends you?  Why the heck not? You want welfare for your mulitple wives even though polygamy is illegal in England? Why didn’t you ask sooner!

You want Jews sent to extermination camps?

Hussssssain has denied making the comments. But then we know the Qur’an says it’s fine and dandy to lie to infidels in order to further the jihad, and, as it happens, Cohen had a witness:

Lorraine Briscoe, who runs a local community association, was sitting next to Mrs Cohen when the conversation took place on speakerphone last Tuesday.

‘I was disgusted that a councillor could make comments like that in 2009,’ she said.

‘He told her, “They will not vote for someone who is white and Jewish. My Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish”.

‘Elaina then asked him if he had talked to his Muslim members about it and he said, “I don’t want to talk about it with you” and hung up.

Two days after the incident, Cohen’s application to run was summarily rejected.  She has filed an official complaint with, if you’ll excuse the term, Labour’s management.  Get ready for liberal antisemitism, round two.

Early Snow As UK Pushes $$ Global Warming Law

Y

ou can’t make this stuff up. In a less secular day, what happened in Parliament yesterday would have been likened to lightening snuffing out a false prophet. From the UK Register:

Snow fell as the House of Commons debated Global Warming yesterday – the first October fall in the metropolis since 1922. The Mother of Parliaments was discussing the Mother of All Bills for the last time, in a marathon six hour session.

Despite the snow, despite 2008 being a year without a summer in England, despite the fact that polling conducted even before the current economic crisis and the non-summer shows 60 per cent of Brits now doubt the influence of humans on climate change, and more than half think Global Warming won’t be as bad “as people say,” despite the fact that it’s gotten steadily cooler for 11 years now, Parliament pushed on, its upper lift stiffened in Churchillian resolve:

In order to combat a projected two degree centigrade rise in global temperature, the Climate Change Bill pledges the UK to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. The bill was receiving a third reading, which means both the last chance for both democratic scrutiny and consent.

The bill creates an enormous bureaucratic apparatus for monitoring and reporting, which was expanded at the last minute. Amendments by the Government threw emissions from shipping and aviation into the monitoring program, and also included a revision of the Companies Act (c. 46) “requiring the directors’ report of a company to contain such information as may be specified in the regulations about emissions of greenhouse gases from activities for which the company is responsible” by 2012.

Folks, greenie dreamies aside, you can’t reduce carbon emissions by 85% in 42 years without (1) spending hundreds of billions – you choose, pounds or dollars, it won’t matter, it’ll still be hundreds of billions and (2) savaging what’s left of the British economy. But who cares, chaps? Push on!

The US Senate has Senator James Inhofe, but in the Commons, there wasn’t an out-and-out sceptic to be found. It was 90 minutes before anyone broke the liturgy of virtue. When Peter Lilley, in amazement, asked why there hadn’t been a cost/benefit analysis made of such a major change in policy, he was told to shut up by the Deputy Speaker.

Will America be next? Both candidates profess their allegiance to the global warming god. But McCain’s reversal on offshore drilling during the energy crisis and his selection of Sarah Palin as running mate, hints that he will show more flexibility than the doctrinaire Mr. O.

Mysteries Of Evolution

H

ere’s a story that might give Darwin pause:

Amoebas glide toward their prey with the help of a protein switch that controls a molecular compass, biologists at the University of California, San Diego have discovered.

Their finding, recently detailed in the journal Current Biology, is important because the same molecular switch is shared by humans and other vertebrates to help immune cells locate the sites of infections.

The amoeba Dictyostelium finds bacteria by scent and moves toward its meal by assembling a molecular motor on its leading edge. The active form of a protein called Ras sets off a cascade of signals to start up that motor, but what controlled Ras was unknown.

Amoeba have a sense of smell? They know how to build a molecular motor? Darwin certainly never suspected a single-cell critter could have all that!

It requires more faith to believe such a complex system can evolve out of the primordial mud than it takes to believe the amoeba is part of God’s design. Continue Reading »

The New Twinkie Defense

G

lobal warming has given us, most incredibly, a new version of the Twinkie defense. Fellow blogger Elvis Julep writes:

On September 11, a British court found six Greenpeace activists not guilty of causing over $50,000 in damage to a UK coal plant. It was never in dispute that the “Kingsnorth Six” did what they were accused of nor that they caused damage and endangered lives, including their own. They did it and are proud of it. Still, they were exonerated by a British court. Here’s why:

The activists argued that they possessed a “lawful excuse” for trying to shut the plant down, because they were trying to prevent the coal plant from causing greater property damage around the world by way of global warming. An example of lawful excuse, as cited by the prosecution and quoted in a Greenpeace blog, would be breaking a window to rescue a child from a burning car.

Yes, you read that correctly.

I’m not going to freak out too much … yet. It’s England, not America. Incredibly bad decisions get overturned. Judges get impeached.

Were the decision to stand, it would mean that English law would allow crime based on an unproven and unprovable belief. This would not only open the door to an assault of similar crimes against property – and even persons – with no ability to use the courts and prisons as deterrence.

Why stop at “lawful excuse” for global warming related crimes? I believe aliens are using Big Ben as their homing signal for an imminent attack, so I plead lawful excuse to the non-crime of blowing that sucker up. I believe if my ex-wife continues to live, she’s going to make some other poor bloke’s life a living Hell, so what’s the difference between breaking a window to save a child and breaking her neck to save a man?

Worse because it’s a more direct and applicable outgrowth of the decision, the court has branded conventional power generation in England criminal – based, again, on an unproven and unprovable hypothesis. It’s easy enough to prove that death and economic disaster would follow if England’s conventional power sources were lawfully excused out of business. People would die of heat or cold, or because hospitals couldn’t function, and England’s economy would quickly return to pre-industrial levels because even if sufficient alternative energy sources were on the verge (that’s a joke, feel free to laugh), it would take conventional power to get them manufactured and installed.  But that proof apparently cannot stand up against the mere belief in global warming.

We eagerly await the appeal, and the jail time these Greenpeace fruitcakes must serve, but our worries about the fate of England grow and grow.

Let’s Hear It For Sharia Law!

Here’s the beauty of Islam and its perverted justice system in a nutshell: Keep women uneducated, so they don’t know how to defend themselves, and discourage men from defending them, then you can stone a whole lot of women to death without having to stone too many men! What’s not to love!?

In theory the penalty of stoning to death applies to both men and women.

But the lawyers say that in practice, many more women than men receive the sentence because they are less well educated and often poorly represented in court. (BBC)

And it’s happening again in Iran – that showplace of Islamic rule – as eight women and one man face imminent stoning for sexual sinning. The women were found guilty of adultery or prostitution, the man was found guilty of having sex with one of his students.

One imam, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, supposedly suspended stoning in 2002, but it hasn’t stopped the practice, and lawyers for the eight say they fear the sentences will be carried out at any time.

And what goes on at Guantanamo is cruel and unusual? Continue Reading »

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
