What A Shocker! Antisemitic Muslims!

E

laina Cohen has labored long and hard for England’s leftist Labour party, slogging the precincts, pimping the candidates, collecting the cash.  So she felt it was her turn to head up an inner-city ward and submitted her application.

It came back stamped “Too white and too Jewish.”  Here’s the story:

Elaina Cohen claims that Labour councillor Mahmood Hussain said he would not support her application for an inner-city ward because ‘my Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish’.

Mrs Cohen, 50, has made an official complaint about the alleged remarks made by Mr Hussain, a Muslim and former lord mayor of Birmingham.

She said: ‘I am shocked and upset that a member of the Labour Party in this day and age could even think something like that, let alone say it.

‘People should not be allowed to make racist comments like that. If someone in the party feels I cannot represent them because of my colour or religion, that’s ridiculous.” (Daily Mail)

Cohen argued that she had worked hard for Birmingham’s Muslim community and had even been on official visits to Pakistan as part of her Labour labors – but, really, who’s she kidding with that “ridiculous” line.  Britain’s Labour party has encouraged massive immigration of Muslims in an effort to secure long-term dominance in local government and Parliament and has kowtowed to their every whim.  You want British public toilets to not face Mecca? Sure! You want police dogs to wear booties when searching your houses? Sure! You want us to ban our own flag because it offends you?  Why the heck not? You want welfare for your mulitple wives even though polygamy is illegal in England? Why didn’t you ask sooner!

You want Jews sent to extermination camps?

Hussssssain has denied making the comments. But then we know the Qur’an says it’s fine and dandy to lie to infidels in order to further the jihad, and, as it happens, Cohen had a witness:

Lorraine Briscoe, who runs a local community association, was sitting next to Mrs Cohen when the conversation took place on speakerphone last Tuesday.

‘I was disgusted that a councillor could make comments like that in 2009,’ she said.

‘He told her, “They will not vote for someone who is white and Jewish. My Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish”.

‘Elaina then asked him if he had talked to his Muslim members about it and he said, “I don’t want to talk about it with you” and hung up.

Two days after the incident, Cohen’s application to run was summarily rejected.  She has filed an official complaint with, if you’ll excuse the term, Labour’s management.  Get ready for liberal antisemitism, round two.

Petraeus + Iowa = Excited Speculation

Update: This turned out to be a bad joke by Michael Goldfarb of The Weekly Standard. He deserves a blogsopheric flogging – here are the facts.

B

uried at the very bottom of a Weekly Standard article about Gen. David Petraeus accepting an invitation to speak at Princton – more on that in a moment – was this enticing little add-on:

“THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned that General Petraeus is planning on delivering the commencement address at the University of Iowa in 2010. Hmmm.”

Hmmm indeed.  That’s a little less than two years before the Iowa caucuses and it could be a meaningless coincidence, but Petraeus teaches his troops to consider the meaning of seemingly meaningless coincidences.

First, he affirmed Princeton’s request in just a few a few minutes, indicating that the general suddenly has an eagerness not just to be seen in public, but to be seen in a swirl of media attention.  You and the general both know that Princeton’s academics will fall all over themselves to see who can be the most obnoxious, unappreciative, seditious voice at that event, assuring Petraeus of plenty of coverage as he responds from far above the fray.

Second, why Iowa?  He has no known ties to the state, having been raised a few miles away from West Point, where he went upon graduation from high school.  Could it be that the slog to the White House starts in Iowa, typically in the spring a couple years before the election?

If the Obama camp is schooled in counterintelligence, the information before them would make them start planning for a presidential run by Petraeus.  What a race that would be! Son of an immigrant vs. son of an immigrant.  Patriot vs. promiser.  Protector vs. poser. Continue Reading »

Apologies From Hell: The Unrepentent Bishop

N

ewly reinstated Roman Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson, who recently said in a Swedish TV interview that 6 million Jews were not murdered during the Holocaust, has issued a letter of “apology.” Uh. Huh.  Here it is, from Williamson’s blog:

To His Eminence Cardinal Castrillón Hoyos

Your Eminence

Amidst this tremendous media storm stirred up by imprudent remarks of mine on Swedish television, I beg of you to accept, only as is properly respectful, my sincere regrets for having caused to yourself and to the Holy Father so much unnecessary distress and problems.

For me, all that matters is the Truth Incarnate, and the interests of His one true Church, through which alone we can save our souls and give eternal glory, in our little way, to Almighty God. So I have only one comment, from the prophet Jonas, I, 12:

Take me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will quiet down for you; for I know it is because of me that this great tempest has come upon you.”

Please also accept, and convey to the Holy Father, my sincere personal thanks for the document signed last Wednesday and made public on Saturday. Most humbly I will offer a Mass for both of you.

Sincerely yours in Christ

+Richard Williamson

OK, class, what word is missing?  that’s right!  “Jews!”

Williamson is only concerned that he offended Cardinal Hoyos the Pope and not the least bit concerned that he offended Jews and others who are offended by antisemitism and holocaust denial. Why is the apology due the Pope? Because he signs, figuratively, Williamson’s paychecks? Because the Catholic church is the great campaigner against the holocaust and antisemitism? The apology, such as it is, is offered to the unoffended party, which makes it something other than an apology.

Then there’s the preface: “Amidst this tremendous media storm,” and the scripture from Jonah, which tells us that if the world weren’t watching, no apology would be forthcoming. If only the Jews were offended, creating a mere media breeze, there would be no apology; but since it’s a storm and includes non-Jewish media, then an apology is needed.

This tells us that Bishop Williamson’s views have not changed one bit, that he remains a holocaust denier, an idiot and a fool.

“Thousands” of Jihadists Ready to Attack UK

T

he (UK) Telegraph is heralding a leaked government report today that says thousands of jihadists – many of them converts to Islam or native-born Muslims – are poised and ready to carry out terror attacks in London, Birmingham and elsewhere in the UK. Says the leaked report:

Since 2001, over 1,200 terrorist suspect have been arrested, over 140 have been charged and more than 45 have been convicted of terrorism offences, according to Home Office figures. It is also estimated that there are some 200 terrorist networks functioning in Britain today who are involved in at least 30 plots.

But this latest security assessment appears to suggest that the number of individuals who now pose a threat to the UK is even higher.

The report continues: “The majority of extremists are British nationals of south Asian, mainly Pakistani origin but there are also extremists from north and east Africa, Iraq and the Middle East, and a number of converts. The overwhelming majority of extremists are male, typically in the 18-30 age range.

Many of them have visited Pakistan (remember Obama’s covered up trip to Pakistan?) and other locations for crash courses in jihad terrorism.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the bodies of the three jihadists executed yesterday for planning the Bali nightclub bombings were flown home and greeted with the sort of celebrations we’ve come to expect from the religion of death:

The crowd shouted “Allahu Akbar!” (God is greater) as the helicopter bearing their bodies landed in a nearby field.

“God is great, God is great! God is showing his greatness. I’m so happy,” shouted one supporter.

“This is God’s grace. The mujahedeen (holy warriors) will fight on!” shouted someone else in the crowd. (source)

That’s not my God, Bub. That’s not the one God who abounds with lovingkindness. Continue Reading »

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
