Ewing Wed, 08 Jul 2009 01:52:30 +0000 http://www.cheatseekingmissiles.com/?p=6899#comment-39447 Here's a strange:  The Democrats talk about having 60 votes as if it were a magic number, which it is IF "bipartisanship" means absolutely nothing.  That  is, if you expect every Democrat to vote exactly along party lines, you need 60 votes.  If you plan to operate in a bipartisan fashion and get some Republicans to agree, you can still get 60 votes.  It's obvious that they are partisans and liars.   The real opportunity here would be for Republicans to corral 40 sure votes and pick off a couple of Democrats to vote with them.   And then somebody needs to go up to Maine and find out what's wrong with those folks up there.
