I

n celebration … no, that’s not the right word … in recognition of the seating of Al Franken as the Dems’ 60th Senator, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has just released this spot:

Yeah, I know the GOP is hardly perfect and has a ton of lessons to learn, but I have to say, this message motivates me to open my wallet.

Here’s a strange:  The Democrats talk about having 60 votes as if it were a magic number, which it is IF “bipartisanship” means absolutely nothing.  That  is, if you expect every Democrat to vote exactly along party lines, you need 60 votes.  If you plan to operate in a bipartisan fashion and get some Republicans to agree, you can still get 60 votes.  It’s obvious that they are partisans and liars.   The real opportunity here would be for Republicans to corral 40 sure votes and pick off a couple of Democrats to vote with them.   And then somebody needs to go up to Maine and find out what’s wrong with those folks up there.

I will vote Republican if the Republicans put up some republican candidates.

    Otherwise, I’ll stay home.

As expensive as gasoline will be (if I can get any), I am NOT going to drive 24 miles to vote for another Notas Badas.

larry, i agree with you except that as timid as the current Republicans are, we have to vote AGAINST the dems.so drive the 24 miles for a long day of campaigning either against a dem or FOR a Republican (run yourself!!)

I love the music. Who wrote it? It sounds a lot like Arvo Pärt.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
