Anti-Stimulus Momentum

Posted by: Laer at 09:37 am

G

rassroots protests against the Rhambama stealth stimulus, like this one in Arizona yesterday, are breaking out all over - Denver, Seattle, Overland Park KS.

This is good stuff - telegenic as all get-out, hard for the media to ignore, and excellent point-making.  Michelle Malkin’s been beating this drum hard (with lots more photos!), and needs more drum-bangers.  Talk radio hosts, GOP electeds and staffers, bloggers, citizens:  Can you organize a protest like this in your town?

And can you do it again next week and the week after?

The best way to save America from Obama’s brand of European Democratic Socialism is to win big in 2010, and make him a one-termer in 2012.  This sort of protest early on, and continuing, and growing, is a critical first step in executing that plan.

Thanks to Obama’s policies I am out of buisness. I have to go find work somewhere else. While I am looking for work I am going to try and organize a protest in my home town. Something has to be done to stop this insanity. We keep going down this road with Obama, and we just might look like Cuba does now.

Obama put you out of business in a month? Maybe it wasn’t Obama. Maybe you’re trying to put blame where it does’nt belong rather than squarely on your shoulders. This kinds of protest is ridiculous, because no one has any idea whether this stimulous will work or not. Instead of waisting your time on protesting Obama and trying to get him out of office by 2012, use your time to help our government out any way you can. Hell, maybe if you developed a sense of nationalism and support the government instead of protesting it at the drop of a dime we’d be better off. I know its your right to protest, but c’mon people I know that the average person attending this protest couldnt tell me why they think its going to fail (without reciting the propaganda they hear on the news)Have any of you heard of FDR?

No Trey, what’s ridiculous is the lack of any reporting on what’s in this Bill and what it does to expand government with 2/3 of it spending. Whatever happened to our generation and the basic questions we used to ask that always questioned authority? What’s ridiculous is that this Bill was rammed down our throats by the Presidents fear mongering without a single member of the house or the public being able to read it. To top it off the president waits four days later, that’s right, FOUR DAYS to fly out with an entourage of lapdog reporters to sign this “Urgently Needed” Pork Bill.So lets break this down, it was so urgent to get this Bill passed that no one who voted on it in the house could read it prior and the public was not allowed to see it as well ( so much for transparency) But it could wait four days before Obama signs it into law? THIS IS REDICULOUS TREY…What’s ridiculous is that 7 democrats also disagreed with the bill, voted against it, but they are not considered partisans and we only hear about all the republicans who blocked this spending spree that should have gone through appropriations as does any monumental spending like this does. What’s ridiculous is that the President tells us there would be an unprecedented level of transparency and accountability in his administration that doesnt include lobbyists when we clearly see its Washington business as usual. What’s ridiculous is when we have an economic downturn where Americans must reduce spending and tighten their budget, the government continues to expand and spend like drunken sailors. What’s ridiculous is bailing out failed banks, car companies, and worst of all people that were given mortgages that could never pay them back in the first place. What’s ridiculous is we are to trust a Treasury Secretary that clearly cheated on his taxes only to settle-up when being considered for the position. What’s ridiculous is the parade of Obama cabinet candidates that all seem to have the same problem with paying their taxes. What’s ridiculous is that nothing happens to these individuals when their tax violations are discovered, but make no mistake if it were you and I we would be tarred and feathered by the IRS. and its 60,000 + pages of rules in our current ridiculous tax code. What’s ridiculous is the President placing blame on Capitalism for this entire mess when the blame rests squarely on the taxpayer scam of the decade, FDRs cutsie sounding “Fannie Mae” and later in the 70s another called Freddie Mac and the expansion of their lending practices, by federal law, to private banks. What’s ridiculous is that FDR is held up by the left as some sort of savior when he is the architect of this New Deal offspring created with typical Liberal noblest-appearing intentions: so government could help make home ownership “easier”. Of course, its, lofty aims shielded it from Scrutiny, oversight and accountability. What’s ridiculous is that Fannie and Freddie were set-up to keep profits like a private company but didn’t have to worry about risk because our government, i.e. you and me, the taxpayer as we are seeing now, assured them both a seemingly endless line of credit. What’s ridiculous is that Freddie and Fannie were able to borrow money at interest rates lower than any private company, they don’t pay state or local income tax, and the Feds were given the power to buy any debt they incur at our expense. What’s ridiculous is that Both Fannie and Freddie were used as cash cows to be raided by politically connected Clinton Cronies that cooked the books of Fannie Mae like Chairman Franklin Raines, Bill Clintons OMB director, who took $52 million, Vice Chair, Jamie Gorelick, Clintons deputy attorney general (and the author of the infamous pre-9/11 “wall” that kept the FBI and CIA from talking to each other) $15 million. And lets not forget Chairman and Chief executive James A. Johnson ( liberal uber-lobbyist later kicked off of Obamas veep search committee due to his role in the Countrywide financial scandal) $1.9 millionWhat’s ridiculous is the liberal fantasy that government spends your money more effectively and efficiently than the people that earn it.I’m tired of this wait and see what the stimulus bill will do B.S., I can already tell you because I know what’s in it.. more expansion of government. Is it any wonder that Social security is bankrupt? Or how about Medicare? Or how about the latest liberal scheme to nationalize healthcare and ensnare the middleclass with the SCHIP bill that supports middleclass families earning 80,000 which is supposedly going to be paid by smokers? Follow the logic here? This is a prime example of how they operate..Liberals tell citizens not to smoke, its harmful, evil, but at the same time they need smokers to fund thier pet projects that expand reliance on our benevolent government but at the same time they tell us not to smoke because it increases healthcare costs? So which is it Libs? And get this.. as AP reports, The democrats don’t dispute that the tax plan would hit the poor communities disproportionately, but they say its worth it to provide health insurance to millions of modest income children. So lets break this example down, Liberal politicians get to ensnare the middle-class in dependency with a dysfunctional, socialist medicine trap while at the same time collecting a regressive sales tax, disguising the whole ruse as punishing Big Tobacco to serve the Children?.. Gag me!! This example is typical liberalism on display, push onerous legislation, brag how humane it is, and when it delivers results opposite those liberals promised? They just shrug their shoulders and collect taxes anyway.   Hmmmmm.. This Sounds just like the housing scheme that leads us to where we are today.Yes Trey, we the people, have seen full well how government fails and continues to fail intentionally only to point the finger at someone other than themselves, all the while continuing to expand under the myth that they had nothing to do with the failures. Were not taking it any longer..

All I have to say is “amen brother Rick”. My thoughts and your words.May God continue to bless you.P

  5. Dr. Dave

Yow! You said it all Rick. I will just add a common sense thought here, you can’t spend your way to prosperity.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
