WITO?!

Posted by: Laer at 07:10 pm

I get the feeling the Obama admin, and the media/lib tepid to favorable response to it, will have me screeming WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?! so often that I’ll just go ahead and abreiviate it at the outset:  WITO?!

Where is the outrage from the Rove-crazed, conspiracy-looney media and left when Rahm Emanuel - a man so political he makes Rove look apolitical - deals himself the U.S. Census?   Where is the outrage from the Obama-struck American electorate, that Mr. Hope would try a political move so appallingly hack as to convert the census into a political tool?

That is the only reason Emanuel/Obama want to rip the Census away from Commerce, so they can set up a gerrymandering that would deprive non-Democratic Americans of their rights for a generation or more.  This is our nation we’re talking about, not Chicago and its corrupt ward politics. WITO?!

My inside-the-Beltway mother thinks it’ll take years for America to overcome the constitutional damage Bush did to America.  I asked her what damage and drew a blank, and I wonder if she is outraged that Obama/Emanuel are so brazenly, so quickly, attacking an institution that is critical to the fair management of American government.

Thank God for Seator Jud Gregg, who apparently has more decency and love of country in his pinkie than Emanuel/Obama have between them.  His resignation - and the quick nature of it, so it caught the slick Obama machine off its game - has raised the profile of the Census issue, an issue that had the profile of a stealth bomber until Gregg’s resignation.

WITO at the NY Times?  Nowhere!  The paper is 13 paragraphs into its Gregg resignation story before the word “census” even appears, showing up in his resignation letter:

“It has become apparent during this process,” Mr. Gregg said, “that this will not work for me, as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the census, there are irresolvable conflicts for me.”

The Times then goes on to quote the outrageous claim by Obama/Emanuel that it is trying stage a take-over of the census “in part because of a concern among minority groups over Mr. Gregg’s leading the Commerce Department.”  WITO over that? Do Obama/Emanuel thik it’s OK to call a U.S. Senator with not a trace of racism in his background of being racist?

WITO?

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
