]]> By: Bookworm http://www.cheatseekingmissiles.com/2008/11/09/just-being-marines-in-lake-forest/comment-page-1/#comment-1563 Bookworm Mon, 10 Nov 2008 06:53:20 +0000 http://www.cheatseekingmissiles.com/?p=6073#comment-1563 I blogged a couple of years ago about a very bizarre show on PBS about the Marines.  What made it bizarre was that it was completely positive about them, rather than portraying them as blood thirsty baby killers (this was a PBS show, after all).  The one thing that I most remember from that show is the one commentator who said of the Marines that they, unlike all other branches of the armed forces (and unlike most other people in the world), are trained to run <em>to</em> the gun.  These six young men did precisely that -- they ran towards dangers to save others.  I like the Marines; I really do.
