ith less than a week to go ’til election day and the polls tightening, it’s no surprise that this week’s Watcher’s Council entries have a lot to do with the candidates, the media (which have had a heavy hand in this election) and the pollsters. On the latter, the Watcher of Weasels has an interesting point:

The ever tightening gap underscores points that pundits made in the weeks leading up to this point: the credibility of the pollsters is on the line so expect the wide gaps in favor of Obama to disappear because the pollsters can’t allow their reputations to suffer from their own biases.

Hmmm. A definitely mull-able point. Also mull-able are these entries.

Council Submissions

Non-Council Submissions

As always, Council members will submit their picks on Thursday, and you’ll see the winners here on Friday morning.

Thanks, Watcher, for not rigging the ballots in this all important contest.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
