Watcher’s Winners – Eyes On Obama

Posted by: Laer at 12:07 pm

A

s you might expect in the final weeks of this all-important election, Obama critiques dominated the winner’s circle at the Watcher’s Council Derby this week. As the Watcher said:

The media has shed what little credibility they had by coming to the defense of Barack Obama’s “share the wealth” statement. Once again those that oppose Barack Obama on substantive matters are being labeled as racist. Attacked by the very people that should protect the rights of those that speak candidly about their political leaders.

The winning entries in both categories touch on these topics. The top entries in each category explore these topics in depth with a focus on the corrupt media and their attempts to rewrite history in real time with the skilled expertise of antagonistic propagandists.

You’d be right if you figured that I liked all the winners in this week’s competition.

Bookworm found herself comfortably atop the competition with her post, Why Obama’s “share the wealth” argument should hurt him. Let’s hope she’s right. Coming in second was Soccer Dad’s wicked deconstruction of WaPo’s endorsement of Obama, The Washington Post chooses hope ahead of substance.

There followed a three-way tie for third that included my entry, Media Bias #89 – The Audacity Of Inexperience.

On the Non-Council side, Bookworm’s nomination lead the pack. It’s Hot Air’s compilation, in word and irrefutable video evidence, of all the horrors of Obama, The Comprehensive Argument Against Barack Obama. Coming in second was Daled Amos’ Joe the Plumber piece that was similar to what I and many others have written, In what kind of nation, do the media investigate critics more than candidates?

A three-way tie followed here, too. All three are great. The Little Red Hen piece is a total hoot, and the other two got my votes for the Non-Council side:

For all the winners, check out the Watcher of Weasels. Thanks, Watcher, for the exciting race.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
