Just A Reminder: Boycott Progressive Insurance

Posted by: Laer at 12:13 pm

I

n case you didn’t get the memo, Progressive Insurance has “progressive” in its title for a reason:  Chairman Peter Lewis is, along with George Soros, Steven “It’s Not My Baby” Bing and Herbert and Marion Sandler, one of the four largest contributors to 527 groups pushing the radical left agenda.  In 2004, this foursome gave over $78 million to defeat Bush.  Who can even guess what they’ll end up giving to get Obama elected?

So don’t give them a penny of your money.  Yeah, yeah, your puny insurance policy is utterly meaningless to Lewis, who is ranked #382 on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people.  He’s got 6,000 pieces of art, for cryin’ out loud.  (Including the Warhol portraits of one of Lewis’ heroes no doubt, Mao, in the background of the photo.)  But he’s concerned, very concerned, about the poor, don’t ya know?

By the way, the Forbes bio notes that (1) Peter got the company from his dad – he’s just another heir with a hair up his butt, and (2) the company got rolling by focusing on high-risk drivers, just as the Sandlers got wealthy by hawking mortgages to high-risk credit losers.

It’s great, that during this economic crisis, you choose to bash a company that provides thousands of jobs to Americans across the country.  It’s so inspiring to see you condem the freedom of choice to support who we want politically.  Too bad you couldn’t focus on all the positive things Peter B. Lewis has done within the community.  Again, thank you for supporting a company that employees so many good people – hopefully your narrow views will not impact sales enough to cause more people to join the devastating ranks of unemployment.

What? I’m not allowed to state my political beliefs in a time of economic crisis?  Ludicrous!  It matters not one whit to the general economy whether I insure with State Farm, 21st Century or Progressive.  It doesn’t cost any jobs.  Lewis has every right to give money to causes like MoveOn.org that would take this country in directions I fear and loathe.  And I have every right to condemn him for doing it; do you really think your position of trying to shush me is more American than my position of criticizing his actions?  If so, I hope you remain forever in the minority of this country – but with the rise of Obama, I fear close-minded liberals who want to hear no other voice but their own are taking the lead.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
