Media Bias #53
Pipeline Prejudice
Sarah Palin cut through walls of entrenched politics and bulldogged a pipeline deal through, so that one day natural gas from Alaska could be delivered to the mainland. That much is undeniably true, but lest one confuse her feat with an actual accomplishment on a par with, say, organizing a community to demand more hand-outs, the NY Times assures us:
The pipeline exists only on paper. The first section has yet to be laid, federal approvals are years away and the pipeline will not be completed for at least a decade. In fact, although it is the centerpiece of Ms. Palin’s relatively brief record as governor, the pipeline might never be built, and under a worst-case scenario, the state could lose up to $500 million it committed to defray regulatory and other costs.
Thank you for that. I’m sure all your fine, objective, reporters are now busy looking for accomplishments of Joe Biden they can denigrate.
