Watcher’s Winners

W

ith the 4th of July drawing near as members of the Watcher’s Council cast their votes in the Watcher of Weasels weekly parade of word-floats through the blogosphere, patriotic themes fared well.

Among Council members, Hillbilly White Trashes essay on patriotism, called Patriotism, came in a strong first and among the non-Council entries, the final blog post on 365 and a Wakeup, Sacramento Host Breakfast, came in a very strong first. It presented the author’s speech to a group in Sacramento in which he honored patriotism and valor, particularly that of his captain, who gave his life carrying out his patriotic duty in Iraq. If you want to read something that captures America’s greatness today, I highly recommend it.

My entry, Witch Hunt For “Obama’s A Muslim” E-Mailer, was one of five Council entries tied for fourth - interesting week! See all the winners here.

Thanks, Watcher, for being such a grand Grand Marshal. Don’t worry - we’ll clean up the horse poop.

With Obama winning the presidency by seven percent, we can't blame the media. Their laudatory coverage and refusal to extensively probe into Obama's background and [lack of] experience was at best responsible for five percent of his vote, the pundits tell us. Here is a compilation of over 100 significant instances of pro-Obama/anti-McCain bias during the 2008 campaign.
